Recruiting pop-culture icon Kim Kardashian to star in its commercial for a line of new premium Grilled Chicken Salads, Weber Shandwick client Carl’s Jr. asked America, “Who said salads can’t be hot?” As part of the Inline efforts to promote the new product and it’s steamy commercial, Weber Shandwick’s Los Angeles-based Social Studio team shot and edited b-roll and a behind-the-scene YouTube video of the commercial. To date, the behind-the-scenes video has generated more than 195,000 cumulative views, 170 “favorites,” 220 comments, and it helped to make the Carl’s Jr. YouTube page the #1 most visited “sponsor” site in December. In addition, the footage has been used by top media outlets such as the nationally-syndicated Inside Dish with Rachel Ray, CNBC’s Fast Money, Los Angeles’ popular KTLA-TV morning news, AccessHollywood.com and OCRegister.com.
